FORMER PLAYERS
Listed are the profiles for some of our former players. Some may well be back at some stage in the future. Players are listed in order of appearances made for Sutton Coldfield Superleague team.
Please note we are in the process of adding personal superleague record links to these players. County links are already up to date.
ROB HAWKER (Sutton Sports) Nickname: ‘Pikey’
Rob
had a season at Hall Green last season and we know has committed
himself to Staff Super league this season. He has still signed though
and as the player who still holds just about every team record there is,
it's nice to see him back on board. Can't
argue with the stats, Pikey has been a fixture in the top 10 of the Superleague Dynamic
averages for many years, winning them outright twice. Balance is so
important in darts, and they do say that your hearing is connected to
your balance. Have you seen those ears!!! Nuff said. Warwickshire County record (2004-05 to present): Pld W W% Ave Warwicks A: 39 16 41.0 25.97 Warwicks B: 15 10 66.7 25.89 TOTAL 54 26 48.1 25.95

CHRIS MILLWARD (Plough) Nickname: 'Kryptonite', 'Milly' or 'Brains'. Lookalike: Gotta be Clark Kent. Who said Hank Marvin? Milly continues to improve in Super League and could finally break into the County set up with more of the same this season. Moved on to our local rivals Four Oaks (spit!) this season and we wish him well (except against us of course). Workaholic self-employed roofer. Seems to work 20 hours a day. We are convincved those specs are actually night vision goggles. Gave superb performance dancing to 'Rhythm is a dancer' on water ad. It was him wasn't it? Superleague Record (2007-08 to present):

MARC NORTON Nickname: Norty Almost as elusive as Kaney at times. The man with the pink darts flights, well at least no-one will steal them. Marc first played for Sutton in 2006,
and seems to go missing every so often only to re-appear without
warning when you least expect it. As unpredictable a player as you will
ever see. Nailed on winner in the dodgy dress sense category
(move over Pikey!), we have seen the lot, pink hair and now even Andy
Pandy shoes. A definite Gok Wan of the dartboard. 'Its all about the
confidence' says Marc.

DAVE WALLACE (Sutton Sports) Nickname: ‘Affro’

Dave
has been taking a break recently as home and work commitments have piled up.
Look forward to a return from the big lad at some point.

IAN SCATTERGOOD Nickname: 'Scatman' We know he is getting his game back again, and who knows may make a super league comeback though this is likely to be with Four Oaks as he plays with a number of those lads now in local league darts.
Certainly a dangerous player when he finds his form as proved by his
County selection whilst at Sutton. Warwickshire County record (2006-2007): Pld W W% Ave Warwicks B: 8 4 50.0 22.46 Superleague Record (2005-06 to present):

MARK KANE Nickname: 'Lucan', 'Coke' or 'Amir' Not entirely sure what Kaney is doing this season, though to be fair we knew very little about his whereabouts from week to week when he was playing for us as Kaney continued to live up to his 'elusive' tag! On his day can beat anyone. PAUL CUMMING (Sutton Sports) Nickname: 'Super Leeds' or 'Goldilocks' Paul is taking a break from Superleague after a couple of seasons at Sutton. Hope to see him back playing at this level again soon. You know how it is with kids today supporting Man Utd because they win everything? Well let Paul be a lesson to those kids. He grew up in an era when another team dominated things. Leeds United! ...... If only he knew then what was going to come (and you wondered why his hair had gone?) DARREN FLETCHER (Old Oscott WMC) Nickname: 'Brackets' Report writer in chief in his time with the team. Work commitments have made it difficult for him to play more regularly......... and of course the fact that England's Cricket team seem to play throughout the year means Brackets is often away watching them......... well in between pints.

STEVE PALING (Sutton Sports) Nickname: 'Block', or 'Dingle' Lookalike: Chris De Burgh (though has now had a dramatic haircut since the sheer horror of this fact hit home!) Steve has relocated to Derby and therefore had to miss out from the 2009/2010 season. Steve was a massive miss for the side having been the resident comic and one of the players who can lift team mates when necessary. Even has a season ticket at Pride Park now. Poor sod!

JAMES OWEN Nickname: 'J', or 'Quickdraw' Work
commitments & shifts have limited J's availability over the last

suggest. Former West Midlands County Youth. Definitely the fastest
thrower we have had yet.

KEVIN SHORTHOUSE Nickname: 'Pecker' or 'Porky' One of those poor unfortunates with big feet .........but by his own admission not as in proportion as he would like (other than his gut area!). A top lad though, who certainly had some highs and lows in his spell with us. Still skipper of the Oscott Social team in the FODDL.

BARRY FRENCH Nickname: 'Heathrow' Moved out of the area now, and hasn't the forum gone quiet without him. We are still fairly sure there isn't a player alive who has changed his flights, his darts, his stance or his throwing action as often as Baz. Still the same dodgy hairstyle though? Weird!

CARL PERRY (SUTTON SPORTS) Nickname: 'Toyboy' His Dad, George, was a top local darter for many years. Carl certainly attracted the big names to play against in a tough first Super league season. Carl still plays for Sutton Sports in local leagues darts, but is unable to commit to more nights at present.

though his truck driving limits his chances to get into regular darts.

man is to opposition sides.
