MATCH REPORT:
Sutton Coldfield 6 Shard End 2
A hard fought win in the end against our local rivals, where for a change we had that little bit of luck when it mattered.
Barrie Linnecor (22.10) 3 Jason Evans (19.83) 0
Steady game from Baz out in 22, 22 & 24 darts including 4 ton plus scores. Just the start we needed. 1-0 Sutton.
John Kavanagh (21.08 ) 3 Matt Gallett (21.41) 2
Matt started well taking the first 2 legs in 22 & 17 darts. JK took the 3rd leg in 16 darts, then edged a nervy 4th leg before nicking the 5th in 26 on double 5. JK 7 tons, Matt 6. 2-0 Sutton.
Kev Shorthouse (14.90) 0 Ian McFarlane (21.47) 3
Kev struggled to find any of his form in the 1st 2 legs, and at 2-0 down against Macca it was always tough from there. Macca took the 3rd leg with the darts in 22 darts after Kev had started the leg with a 113. 2-1 Sutton.
Chris Millward (21.75) 3 Adam Gallett (20.23) 2
For the 3rd game in a row Shard End opened up a 2-0 lead, but as in game 2 Sutton bounced back, with Chris taking the next 3 in 23, 15 & 27 darts. 7 tons for Milly, 6 for Adam. Sutton 3-1.
Mark Kane (28.36) 3 Tony Comerford (20.94) 0
Coke was in supreme form again taking the game in 17, 16 & 20 darts, and hitting 7 tons in the process. MOM performance from Kaney. 4-1 Sutton.
Mark Wild (25.19) 3 Trevor Frost (26.38 ) 2
Contest of the night with Wildy clocking 114 to take the 1st leg in 21, Trev taking the next 2 in 20 & 17, Wildy clocking 114 to take the 4th in 18 against the darts, and then taking the last in 20 to secure the points. 7 tons for Wildy, 9 tons & a 180 for Trev. 5-1 Sutton.
Steve Paling (19.43) 0 Anwar Parvez (25.05) 3
Steve was off the pace in leg 1, but had chances to level in the second. Anwar getting back to his best though and played very well throughout earning him MOM for Shard End finishing in 21, 21 & 18. 3 tons for Steve. 5-2 Sutton.
Rob Hawker (26.37) 3 Mark Birch (22.69) 0
Pikey cruised to a 2-0 lead in 17 & 18 darts. Had a shot at tops for 18 darts in the 3rd to equal Kaneys MOM average. Still an impressive win though and keeps him in the hunt for the league averages title. 7 tons for Pikey, and a 6-2 victory for Sutton.
Great win to put us back in the hunt for 3rd place. With Hall Green beating Coventry Cherry Tree we remain 6 points behind Cov Cherry with a game in hand and 5 behind Hall Green with a game in hand.
That game in hand....... a tough home game v Tamworth, but before that 2 more fixtures, both away...........versus Coventry Cherry Tree & Hall Green!
It's going to be a very tense finish for that 3rd spot. I think its fair to say that Leamington & Cherry Tree's other side are nailed on now for places 1 & 2.
