MATCH REPORT

SUTTON COLDFIELD 6 NUNEATON 2

It was a bit of a late one with Nuneaton not getting to our place until about 9.30pm. Apparently they got lost and their Sat Nav sent them on a tour of the Midlands.

It was always going to be hard for Nuneaton after the safari they had been on, and having little time for practice.

Results were:

John Kavanagh (22.79) 3 John Montgomery (22.67) 2

After a nightmare fortnight JK bounced back with a win. 8 tons and out in 22, 24 & 20 darts.

Mark 'Spidey' Wild (24.24) 3 Karl Scoffman (21.63) 0

New nickname and back to form with 5 tons and out in 20, 20 & 22 darts.
Think that one might stick now, mate!

Mark Kane (28.90) 3 Rob Mullins (22.12) 0

MOM performance from 'Coke'. Untouchable as he went out in 18, 18, & 16, with 8 tons.

Kev 'Pecker' Shorthouse (17.47) 1 Adam Hancock (18.13) 3

Walked into that nickname didn't you Kev?  3 tons for Kev on an off night, but averages dragged down by the finishing in leg 2.

Steve Paling (24.05) 3 Chris Wickenden (19.81) 1

Lost the first, but Block bounced back taking the next 3 in 25, 16 & 21. 7 tons for Steve and one of 5 24+ averages in our side on the night.

Baz Linnecor (20.46) 2 Mick Allsopp (20.21) 3

Baz went 2-0 down and almost pulled off a 3-2 win from that position for the 2nd week running. 7 tons for Baz. Took legs 3 & 4 in 25 & 17 darts. Two at a double in the fifth leg to win the match.

Rob Hawker (24.64) 3 Aaron Wall (18.62) 0

Rob hit 5 tons and out in 14, 24 & 23. Pikey also hit the only 180 of the night. First leg should have been 12 darts as 2 bounced out. He went 180, 60 (with 2 on the deck), 100, 137, 24 out.

Chris Millward (27.33) got a 3-0 bye for Sutton in the last.

A walkover for Milly but got a great average with 8 tons & out in 21, 17 & 17 darts.

Sutton 51 (+1) tons vs Nuneaton's 31. Running averages Sutton 23.74, Nuneaton 20.57.

MOM's were Kaney (for Sutton) who is in excellent form right now, and Mick Allsopp (Nuneaton).

Good laugh on the night, mostly at 'Spidey' & 'Pecker's' expense.

Good luck to Nuneaton for the rest of the season.
