MATCH REPORT
Kenilworth 2 Sutton Coldfield 6
A game where the result was pleasing, but only 2 of our players topped a 22 average which is unheard of for us previously this season. The Christmas break obviously can't come soon enough for some of us.
Phil Thorpe (21.92) 2 Barrie Linnecor (21.95) 3
Baz bounced back from 2-0 down to take this one in 18, 27 & 24 darts. 12 tons for Baz and 8 for his opponent who is new to the league but looks a top prospect.
Peter Bench (18.02) 1 Mark Wild (19.42) 3
A below par Wildy winning in 27, 22 & 27 darts. 4 tons for Mark and 3 for his opponent.
Steve Barnett (19.45) 1 Kev Shorthouse (19.45) 3
Kev's first win in superleague and a gutsy performance after last week's draw fiasco. Out in 25,24 & 29 with 4 tons.
Martin Tonks (23.48 ) 1 Rob Hawker (28.52) 3
Top performance again from Pikey (Sutton's MOM) out in 19,16 & 15 against one of the more experienced players in the Kenilworth side. 7 tons for Pikey.
Thomas Parr (20.88 ) 3 John Kavanagh (19.76) 0
3 tons in another below par performance for JK. Nuff said. Thomas the Kenilworth MOM.
Mark Burbury (17.59) 3 Chris Millward (20.38 ) 1
5 tons for Milly but not one of his better games. Took 3rd leg in 21 darts but missed doubles in the 4th cost him.
Mick Kerry (21.24) 2 Mark Kane (24.78 ) 3
Kaney pushed all the way by an inspired Mick who hit the only 180 of the night. 10 tons for Kaney out in 17, 19 & 24.
Tony Smith (18.47) 1 Steve Paling (19.26) 3
Steve 2-1 up in 24 & 20 but a never ending 4th leg dragged down the averages. 5 tons for Steve, and good to see him back to winning ways.
A result that puts us level with Hall Green in 4th place with a game in hand, as they drew with Rugby this week.
Some big plusses. Good to see Kev get his first win and Steve back on the win trail, whilst Baz is playing with more confidence than ever before in Super league. Added to that Rob and Kaney are looking invincible at present.
Next up Nuneaton at home.
