 MATCH REPORT

Results:

Darren Swords (24.23) 3 Mark Kane (23.31) 2

Kaney looked good for the win until the 5th leg, winning in 23 & 21, but Daz won with 3 x 19 dart games. An impressive 11 tons including a 104 finish for Mark but its doubles for dough!

Tony Nolan (23.15) 0 Rob Hawker (27.33) 3

Rob in great form (6 tons including a 180), out in 17, 23, & 15 darts. It was his birthday too, so the MOM award topped off a good day.

Mark Westgarth (18.81) 1 Barry Linnecor (22.17) 3

Barry comfortable against the ex-county player, out in 18, 20 & 25. Average would have been 24+ but for missed doubles in the 4th leg. 7 tons for Baz. Great game considering he drove all night so couldn't have a drink.

Andy Rollason (22.14) 1 Chris Millward (23.25) 3

7 tons in 4 legs also for Milly, winning in 19, 24 & 20 darts. Had to win with his nipper watching and did so with 85 out in 2 darts to clinch the match. A 113 finish for Andy Rollason who played well against Chris.

Paul Beverley (19.83) 3 Steve Paling (22.15) 2

As the averages show Steve looked the winner in this, 2-1 up out in 23 & 15 darts (with a 101 finish), missed doubles cost Steve towards the end. Have to say also there was a bit of chatting going on amongst the home players towards the end of this game, and in a silent large room that can be off-putting. It did seem to get to Steve at one point. 7 tons for Steve. A 100 finish from Paul among 6 tons in response.

Tony Hartland (21.12) 2 Mark Wild (23.62) 3

A cracking game and vintage Wildy coming from 2-1 down to win 3-2. A 122 finish in the 4th leg gave him momentum going into the 5th. 7 tons for Wildy, out in 22, 15, & 25.

Chris Graham (16.68 ) 0 Dave Wallace (17.28 ) 3

5 tons including a 180 for Dave, but some dodgy finishing reduced his average dramatically. Had shots for 20 & 15 darts in legs 2 & 3. Finished them in 29 & 32. Doubles practice time, Dave. Comfortable though.

Pete Costello (20.03) 0 John Kavanagh (20.31) 3

Again 5 tons in 3 legs, again finishing nightmare. Out in 21 & 20 in legs 1 & 3, but leg 2 had shot at 32 for 18 darts but finished in 33.

55 (+2) tons for Sutton, thats 50+ tons every week so far which is a big improvement on where we were in previous years. Coventry Railway hit 35 (+0). The Sutton team running average was 23.64 after game 6, but ended at a less impressive 22.43. Coventry Railway finishing with a running average of 20.75.

A great win though, keeping our unbeaten record intact. We should get an idea of whether we have really improved after the next two games which will be two of the toughest games we play all season. Next week Leamington at home then Tamworth away.
