MATCH REPORT
Results were:
Chris Millward (22.28 ) 2 Tommy Ryan (24.93) 3
Tough luck for Milly against one of the county's top players. 9 tons for milly including a 111 finish. Tommy showing his class with a 13 dart game. Averages would have been much better but for missed doubles in 1st leg. Milly had 2 darts at tops in 5th leg to win it. 1-0 to Cherry Tree.
Barrie Linnecor (22.78 ) 0 Steve Hine (28.36) 3
Baz could have been 2 up in this game against PDC world championship quarter finalist from 2006. Steve didn't need asking twice though, out in 19,20 and 14 darts, including a 180. Class. 6 tons for Baz. 2-0 to Cherry Tree.
John Kavanagh (21.13) 3 Steve Patterson (22.25) 1
An incredible 20 missed darts at doubles for JK almost cost the match. 10 tons though. Sutton back in the game now, 2-1 down.
Rob Hawker (22.34) 3 Tommy Dillon (20.02) 1
Slow start from Pikey in a nightmare 1st leg, but then found his form. 8 tons and in the end looked comfortable against Tommy who is back playing County this season. A 180 for Tommy. 2-2 overall.
Dave Wallace (22.79) 3 Paul Merrett (22.70) 2
Tough game for Affro but he pulled through against the darts in the last leg. 5 tons for Dave and probably the biggest turning point in the match. Paul is always a difficult opponent and regularly appears in the County squads. Paul also clocked a 106 finish. Sutton 3-2 up.
Steve Paling (24.01) 2 Martin Brown (24.57) 3
A cracking game this going to the wire. Steve so unlucky against the County player. 7 tons for Steve, and a good losing average. 3-3 on the night.
Mark Wild (20.99) 3 Jaz Athwal (21.17) 1
Jaz went in 180 first 3 and had a shot at 12 darts in the first leg, but Wildy still took the leg. 6 tons for Wildy including a 102 finish and we had guaranteed at least a draw. 4-3 to Sutton.
Mark Kane (25.91) 3 Steve Sharpe (21.79) 0
All the same these county boys. Just like Pikey last week Kaney waits for the hard work to be done then nicks the MOM in the last game. Great game out in 19, 19 and 20 including 5 tons and the points were safe. 5-3 result.
A better performance and it had to be. Running averages Sutton 22.72, Cherry Tree 23.22.
Tons scored Sutton 56 (+0), Cherry Tree 58 (+3).
