MATCH REPORT:

ANSTY 5 SUTTON COLDFIELD 3

A result which now leaves us 11 points behind third placed Coventry Cherry Tree with a game in hand. A close game where missed doubles proved crucial.

John Sanders (22.93) 0 Mark Wild (26.84) 3

Great game from Spidey who has now topped a 24 average in 5 of his last 6 games. 8 tons for Wildy and out in 20, 20 & 16 darts. 1-0 to Sutton.

Steve Rogers (20.40) 3 Barrie Linnecor (20.67) 1

The Cube drew his nemesis at Ansty yet again, and again all games could have gone either way. 5 tons for Baz in all and taking the 2nd leg in 22 darts. Missed doubles cost him in the others. 1-1 on the night.

Steve Berrill (25.05) 3 Kevin Shorthouse (20.62) 0

Steve winning in 22, 17 & 21 and giving Kev few chances. 7 tons for Steve, Kev replying with 3. 2-1 Ansty.

Steve Dwyer (21.03) 3 Steve Paling (19.08) 2

Block took the first 2 legs in 24 & 25 but could just not get over the line. Shots at doubles in legs 4 & 5 but they just wouldn't go in, as County lad Steve Dwyer nicked it 3-2. 4 tons for Block. 3-1 Ansty.

Ryan Frisby (21.73) 1 Rob Hawker (30.22) 3

Awesome performance from Pikey with 13 tons and out in 15, 17 & 15, giving Ryan little chance, although he hit a 180 in reply. 3-2 Ansty.

Steve Pinch (26.76) 3 John Kavanagh (24.87) 1

Steve in great form clocking 124 in the first leg and 116 in his 12 dart 4th leg which included a 177. JK had first shot at a double in all of the first 3 legs but took only the 2nd leg in 20. 7 tons apiece. 4-2 Ansty.

Eric Simpson (19.51) 1 Chris Millward (22.66) 3

Milly always looked in control, winning in 25, 21 & 21. 9 tons & a 180 from Milly to set up a close finish. 4-3 Ansty.

Ricky Frisby (25.47) 3 Tony Lewis (19.06) 0

Ricky out in 18, 21 & 20 giving Tony little chance. Only Tony's 2nd appearance of the season, but signs its coming back with a couple of tons in the 3rd leg. 5-3 Ansty.

No Kaney or Affro, so it was always going to be tough.

Tons were:
Ansty 36+2, Sutton 51+1

Running Averages:
Ansty 22.86, Sutton 23.00

So we edged it in those areas but lost it on doubles. A great bunch at Ansty and we wish them the best for the rest of the season. They will certainly be a force next season.

MOM's were Steve Pinch & Pikey.

Next week we are at home to local rivals Shard End, and we certainly need a result.
